E. ECOMARINE Project

(Energy Conversion of Marine Engine from Fossil Fuels to Natural Energy)
Today the fishing industry, especially small fishing boats, are threatened by the sudden and steep hike in oil prices. Energy conversion of these small boats from petroleum to natural energy will be possible by replacing gasoline/diesel engines to battery-motor systems. The lithium-ion battery is promising when coupled with a DC motor. This new power system for small fishing boats will be studied.

E-1 RAINBOW Project
(Resonant Rocking Action Intensified By Oscillating Ocean Wave.)
In such a battery-motor driven fishing boat, the battery can be recharged by utilizing wave energy. To effectively recover wave energy and convert it to power, the rocking motion of waves is intensified by resonance, and then absorbed by the oil-pressure-system and finally stored in the battery.

E-2 WIN-WIN project
(Wind, solar and Wave Integrated Power Generator)
Natural energy is a thinly and widely distributed energy source. Therefore, to utilize natural energy economically, minimizing the adjoining cost for supports, structures, and accessories is very important. By mounting various types of power generating systems such as wind, solar and wave energy on a common support and/or structure, the adjoining capital cost will be minimized. Moreover the combination of systems with different generating characteristics will maximize the overall utilization factor of natural energy. This will greatly decrease the accumulated generating cost throughout the year, and increase the overall economy.
